CRANDALL, Ga. — Authorities in Murray County are investigating after three men were arrested on animal cruelty charges.
Sheriff Howard Ensley says three men were taken into custody Tuesday after a deputy answered a complaint that men had cut off a dog’s head.
Authorities arrested 54-year-old Randall Blaylock, 45-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Fuller and 50-year-old Charles Roach on a charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.
Ensley says deputies found evidence that the canine was killed with an ax and parts of the carcass was put in a freezer.

I'm sorry, but unless there is something I am missing in this story, I don't understand the big deal. Sure, eating dogs is unusual in this country but, not a crime. Before all the animal rights advocates jump down my throat, don't get me wrong. I love dogs. I have owned dogs. I would never think of killing a dog and eating it. However, that's me. How is what these men did any different than what a hunter and farmers does every day, not to mention all of us who eat meat from time to time, when we slaughter or consume, cows, chickens, fish, deer, etc. If they were going to kill a dog, I am glad it was just not for sport of it but, for food. Unless, these guys stole the dog from someone else, killed dog is some unusal and vicious way, or some other criminally crazy circumstances surrond this case, that would suggest they are a harm to society, our legal system has better things to do than use tax payer money to persecute this silliness.
