Man arrested for violating sex offender registry

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies today arrested a man wanted for violating the sex offender registry.

Christopher Allen McBryar, 48, had been wanted since November 2005 and was located today in Harrison County, Miss., officials said.

Mr. McBryar finished his parole in October 2004 and did not make any attempt to register with the Hamilton County sex offender registry, the sheriffs office said. He also was placed on the office’s “12 Most Wanted” list.

Authorities received information that Mr. McBryar was working in Mississippi on properties damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Both the sheriff’s office fugitive division and the U.S. Marshal’s Office checked all leads and found Mr. McBryar, who is awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
