Chattanooga appeared on NBC’s The Today Show Wednesday as one of the nation’s five best real estate markets.

“There’s good jobs, good houses, good values, three good reasons to live in Chattanooga,” Barbara Corcoran, the program’s real-estate expert, said in the segment.

Chattanooga ranked 5th on the Inman News list behind Raleigh, N.C., Wichita, Kan., Rochester, N.Y., and Des Moines, Iowa, as among the markets with the best price appreciation and potential.

Chattanooga’s appearance on the list and the nationally-broadcast program is a boon to not just the area’s real estate market, but economic future in general, said J.Ed. Marston, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s vice president of marketing.

“It’s a tremendous boost to our efforts,” he said.
