Gorman Erickson gave Chattanooga an early lead, but the Huntsville Stars rallied for three runs against Matt Magill to win 3-1 in the opening game of a five-game series.
Huntsville tied the game in the fourth and took the lead with two runs in the sixth. Blake Smith finished with three of the Lookouts five hits and he was 1-for-2 in stolen base attempts.
Magill (8-5) struck out six, but gave up three hits by Khris Davis and two hits to Jean Segura. Dan Merklinger picked up the win in relief for Huntsville
Game two of a five-game series against Huntsville at Joe W. Davis Stadium is tonight at 7:43 EDT.
Aaron Miller (5-6, 4.14) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, and the Stars starter will be a game-time decision.
