A man and a woman have been arrested on methamphetamine charges in DeKalb County, Ala., authorities say.
Chris Allan Johnson, 33, of Rainsville, and Tara Battles Hensley, 36, of Sylvania, were both arrested and charged with first-degree manufacturing of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a news release.
The pair were taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center where they remain, Harris said.
At a home on Clements Road in Rainsville, authorities seized methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia as well as two firearms, he said.
Two children under the age of 12 were in the residence, he said, and investigators with the state Department of Human Resources were notified. The children were given to other family members, Harris said.
