A 39-year-old man was shot today in an apparent burglary in Chattanooga, police said.
When police responded to a burglary call about 1:30 p.m. at 3004 Pope Drive, they found a man shot at the scene, said Chattanooga police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig. The man was taken to the hospital, where he is in serious condition, Hartwig said.
After the first shooting, a 17-year-old male arrived at a different local hospital this afternoon, Hartwig said. Police are at the hospital now, he said, but it’s unclear whether the two incidents are related, although he says the burglary and the arrival of the teen at the hospital happened only a short time apart.
