Slashing Tires

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

This is just another Clay Bennett lie to spread the liberal agenda of hate speech. Bennett should be ashamed of his self. Pathetic. why does not Clay bennett say anything good about obastard and the other libtard dummycrats? I know why, they have done nothing good and they have nothing to brag about or to hang their hat on.

According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, that between January 2009, when Obastard took office, and March 2012, there has been a net decline of 740,000 jobs for both men and women, and that among women there has been a net loss of 683,000 jobs. The Bureau of Labor Statistics did the math and calculated that 92.3 percent of the jobs lost under Obaatard were lost by women and yet obastard and the communist liberals still spread lies about some bogus invented war on women by Republicans when the actual culprit that hurts women are the failed obastard liberal policies.

Fleischmann is good example of what’s wrong with leadership in America. District 3 will be a lot better off without him. His first vote in office was to say ”yea” for H.R. 1217, which was an effort to repeal the Prevention and Public Health fund that has been established to provide grant assistance to entities carrying out prevention, wellness, and public health activities.

Did we have something to gain by Fleischmann’s vote in this case? No, the sad reality is that Region 3 had a lot to lose by Fleischman’s vote. States were using the money from the Prevention and Public Health fund to help train public health workers, reduce tobacco use, prevent HIV and AIDS, strengthen laboratories to track disease outbreaks, and promote wellness and safety in the places where people live, work, plan and learn.

What's really pathetic is the fact you make-up crap as you go. That's what is pathetic. When George W. Bush was placed in the White House in 2000 he was handed a SURPLUS after Eight years of President Bill Clinton. When President Barack Obama entered the White House he was handed a DEFICIT based on the Eight years of George W. Bush. The U.S. was headed for a Depression that would have made the Great Depression seem like just a slight downturn. There were thousands of jobs being lost on a monthly basis, Two unfunded Wars, Banks were on the verge of collapse, Home foreclosures were through the roof, and last but certainly not least the U.S. had lost the respect of more people around the world than at any time in history.

No one could have cleaned up all of the mess Bush left behind in one year or even two or three years. NO ONE on this earth. Your racist, ignorant, stupid rants on President Obama prove you don't oppose him because of his policies but because he is Black. That makes your comments useless and worthless in the great scheme of things.

All economic indicators have obastard's economy deteriorating worst than he has made it. Obastard holds the record of keeping the unemployment rate above 8% for 38 consecutive months more than any president ever. Obastard has also added more to the national debt than any president. Obastard is also the first president to get a downgrade to an AA rating from a AAA rating. None of this is good for women or anyone. What I find pathetic is the liberals and the dummycrats like clat bennett actually think women are so stupid to believe they would think the Republicans would actually have a "War on Women". The dummycrats actually think women are that stupid to believe this lie. Ridiculous.

Why is it women's health care??????? Why do they deserve special treatment??????? They want equality but also special treatment. Free birth control, free condoms, free this, free that,.....

I'll tell you a cheaper way for free birth control....WOMEN MIGHT CONSIDER CROSSING THEIR LEGS!!!! Maybe they need to stop popping out kids when their not married. Maybe they shouldn't act like alley cats.

Before you say, "It takes two to tango," let me let you in on a little secret....MEN DON'T GET PREGNANT!!!

This country is half men, maybe we men should start screaming about free viagra. The argument for women's birth control is that they should be able to have sex if they want to without getting pregnant. Well, men who have ED can't have sex so viagra serves the same function. Both things enable men and women to have sex.

Since prostate cancer kill twice as many men as breast cancer kills women, I want free prostate exams and testing. Isn't that equality????

I sick and tired of women complaining constantly about problems they have absolute control over if they would take a little personal responsibility. I repeat, if you don't want to get pregnant...DON'T HAVE SEX. If you don't want STD's, ....DON'T HAVE SEX.

Then it won't cost you any money or me having to use my tax dollars to pay for your fun.

There are a lot of women that need to grow up and finally..finally take a little responsibility for their own actions. That is called maturity. Grow up.

Another health related destructive monkey see-monkey do “yea” vote by Chuckie Fleischmann was H.R. 1213. Although the Republicans claim to support state-based health reform, Fleischmann along with a majority of his Republican collegues voted to take away Federal money that states will need to create their own, unique insurance exchange programs – in other words funds for state-designed, state-regulated entities that individuals and small employers could use to compare and buy health coverage.

And “Chuckie” says the State of Tennessee doesn’t need Prevention and Public Health funds. Shame, shame, shame on you "Chuckie" Fleischmann:

“Tennessee is tied for the second fattest state in the nation, in part because of low incomes and expanding waistlines among minorities, an obesity report showed Tuesday. The state took the No. 1 spot for most obese Latinos, while ranking sixth for obesity among blacks.

Overall, 31.6 percent of Tennessee's adults are obese, the seventh annual report from Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation showed. That percentage has risen every year since the first "F as in Fat: How Obesity Policies are Failing in America" report. In 2009, Tennessee ranked fourth fattest. . .

Policy experts say it is not a coincidence that six of the 10 most obese states also rank high for poverty. Tennessee tied for ninth highest poverty rates.

"We have a lot of poverty in the South, and there is a correlation between income and obesity," said Angela Glover Blackwell, co-director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center on Childhood Obesity.

Glover Blackwell said more than 23 million people in low-income neighborhoods travel more than a mile to get to a grocery store and often don't have transportation. Those factors increase the chances they are going to buy the quickest, cheapest foods — often the most unhealthful fare.

Dr. Charles Morton, a bariatric surgeon at Baptist Hospital Metabolic Surgery Center, said it only takes an extra 200 calories a day to tack on 10 pounds in a year.

"Per-capita consumption of sugar is 157 pounds per year, while 100 years ago it was only 2 pounds," said Morton, who does weight loss surgeries on seriously obese patients. "Slowly, insidiously, it sneaks up on these individuals, and before they know it, they don't have the energy to exercise."

All of the righties with their tightie whities all in a wad over Obama and his "failed" policies need to remember Mitch McConnell's infamous statement, speaking on behalf of all of his fellow Republicans: "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." THAT has indeed been the driving force of the Republican party ever since Obama took office - not working WITH him but working AGAINST him at every turn. With the help of the abused and over-used filibuster, they have been able to strangle any legislation that would have helped to create jobs or grow the economy in any way. They know that as long as the economy is in the tank, it will reflect negatively on Obama and lessen his chances for re-election. This is not just a matter of opinion or of misconstruing McConnell's words. He made it perfectly clear in what he said that the primary goal of Republicans is to do whatever it takes to keep Obama from being elected. And so far they have been vigilant and single-minded in working toward that goal.

They don't give a rat's ass about the economy or the middle class or the working people or the poor - nobody but themselves and big bizz and the upper crust of rich fat cats who support their twisted and self-serving political agenda. And all of you nitwit middle class and redneck boot lickers who swallow their swill and continue to vote for them don't even have the brains or the common sense to know that you're just pawns in their game. If you're insulated from the ill effects of their malicious policies now, you will definitley be feeling it down the road.

The Republican assault on contraception and abortion rights seems to have revived an old question: is sexual freedom good for women? Other creaky perennial questions about a woman's ambit have finally been laid to rest: virtually no one in American public life seriously worries that higher education spoils a woman, and fewer and fewer fret that working outside the home warps her destiny. In a world that always seems to need a woman problem of some sort, it's as good as any, and more entertianing than most. The trouble is that a problem like this tends to engage the extremes-this time it's the neo-puritans, who imagine they can turn back the clock, and the exhibitionists, who hardly know there are one.

It would be hard to imagine a more unlikely historical moment than this one for birth control to become a matter of outraged political controversy. The fact that we live in a society that has become remarkably dependent on the unfrettered ambition of women. This is an economic and education order predicted on the freedom of women, married and unmarried, to protect their own health and to decide when they're going to have children.

I call them as I see'em. They were no better than the neo-cons. It was a war that cost the lives of over 500,000 young men and maimed millions more for life. It should have been a lesson in what not to do to this country and it's most precious resources. However, since G. W. Bush didn't fight in that war and only supposedly flew fighter jets over Alabama looking for Viet Cong, he never learned that lesson. John Kerry did and was made by that slime ball Karl Rove and those lying Swift Boaters in to being less than the hero he was. Not only John Kerry suffered from the lies told by Rove and the Neo-con cronies but other heros from Viet Nam like Max Clelland were made to appear as if they were friends of Osama Bin Laden because they questioned the wisdom of attacking Iraq. Oh yea, as far as how much money you have or not, people who brag about it usually don't have it. If what you say is true, you don't even know what real money is.

As far as "wasting more money than I'll ever have" well I don't know what you spend your money on but you sure as hell have wasted it paying the federal government. From you opinions, it could have been wasted on a little whacky weed.

By the way, I wasn't commenting on accumulating wealth, I was commenting on those who create jobs which provide for the middle class. Your need to "show" me what you have is a symptom of your inferiority complex. If you feel guilty about your boat and rental houses I am sure you could sell those and give the money to the federal the federal government. Oh, that's right, you just want to take us mean old businessmen's money, not yours.

I have a 2009 article from the Wall Street Journal which indicates in part that taxing the top 2% (sorry 1% libs) of the wealthiest Americans at a rate of 100% meaning taking everything they’ve got and assuming they still go on working and investing for basically a zero after-tax income-would run the federal government for less than six (6) months.

It doesn’t take an economist to realize that if you won’t cut spending, and you can’t get enough from just taxing the rich, then the only thing left is expending tax increases to the middle class.

VAT anyone? (Value-added tax) In 2008 Oblamea said the VAT isn’t on the table. April 21, 2010 Oblamea is now open to VAT. On Aug. 30, 2011 Alan B Krueger, OB’s new economic advisor suggested the tax two (2) years from now. WOW No cuts, no income tax hikes, just pay more on everything that you buy. What a deal. Then the Oblamea gang can honestly say with a straight face they never voted for a tax increase and they fought hard to maintain government services and programs. (Liberal speak)

Fleischmann’s H.R. 2112 vote was against children, pregnant women and senior citizens:

H.R. 2112 would cut funding for a number of FDA and USDA programs. This would include food aid programs to children, pregnant women, and senior citizen. In addition, programs to assure food safety would be almost completely eliminated. Programs to improve meat, egg and dairy safety inspections would be eliminated.

Since not a single one of those Swift Boat slime balls was ever on an actual tour of duty with John Kerry when he was in battle they couldn't be correct. The people who were with him denounced every lie the Swift Boaters told.

The worthless Americans were G. W. Bush and his Neo-con cronies who were nothing more than Blood thirsty, power-grabbing, greedy corporate thugs who wanted to sell the souls of the fighting men and women of our military for the oil in Iraq. They cost this country the lives of over 4000 young men and women, hundreds of thousands of civilian lives in Iraq and maimed thousands for life including both military and civilian. And today if given the chance, would do the same thing again if dumbas*es put them back in power. Only this time it would be worse because they intend to attack Iran without provocation.

If that happens they will soon discover there is not enough VOLUNTEER manpower to conduct another war so they will institute a draft. Of course like Bush none of their sons will have to fight or their daughters but it will certainly be one way for Mitt Romney if elected to put the economy BACK TO WORK.

Who gives a crock of sh#t whether you own a boat or umpteen houses or not?? Oh, that's right...these conservative ninnies who think that money is ALL there is to life...or being a “job creator” or whatever. I know you weren't bragging about your possessions, just making a point. But I am not about to explain, define, or rationalize myself or my character for the benefit of idiots like those. They can think that I and other libs "envy" them all they want to, or that we somehow "hate" successful people. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have always judged people on their character and never the amount of money they have or don't have or whether they are considered successful or not. These depraved and narrow-minded rabid righties, on the other hand, judge people by one criterion, and that is the amount of money you make. Period. Hell, they even call you lazy and un-American if you're not striving to be the one percent. My pity for these wretched souls who have such a narrow and warped way of looking at life is outweighed only by my contempt.

Tu_quo_que said: "Better access to supermarkets . . . doesn't improve people's diets."

Good link, Tu_qu. What a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, "Chuckie" Fleischmann doesn’t support the health prevention programs that the article mentions. I thought that the guy from Hunger Action Los Angeles and the "celebrity chef" made some good points:

“But not all grocery stores are created equal, said Frank Tamborello of Hunger Action Los Angeles, a group that promotes better diets. Supermarkets in underprivileged areas often offer fewer, lower-quality and more expensive healthful food options than stores in better-off neighborhoods, he said.

Obesity experts also stressed that measures to improve the food environment were important — they can't happen just in a vacuum. What's needed, said, Gwen Flynn, director of community health and education at Community Health Councils in Los Angeles, is "a comprehensive plan to change what people are eating," including community education and government and private subsidies for healthful foods.

Some programs already exist, such as SNAP-Ed and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which provide nutrition education to families eligible for food stamps. Programs teaching low-income families how to grow vegetables also are on the uptick.

And in October 2009, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children began providing year-round cash vouchers for fruits and vegetables. A 2010 study found that educating participants was key in nudging them to improve their eating habits.

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, an outspoken advocate of healthful eating, said in an email that shopping at supermarkets did not automatically translate to good choices. "If you go into most grocery stores across America, the majority of the store is chock-full of processed food calling out to you from the packages, 'Pick me! I'm tastier and more convenient,'" Oliver wrote. "And ringed around all this are good old veggies, with no instructions."

John_Proctor said: “ABC! Anyone But Chuck for this and many other reasons.”

I agree with what you say, John Proctor. When you look closely at what Fleischmann has been doing, it becomes clear that he’s has little interest in the health and welfare of families in the State of Tennessee's Third District:

Fleischmann even voted to limit the EPA’s authority to impose water quality standards.

In July of 2011, Fleischmann voted to pass H.R. 2018, which would limit the authority of the Environmental Protection Agency to impose water quality standards.

In effort to limit the deregulation bill, Colorado Representative Jared Polis tried to attach an amendment to the bill so that corporations with a significant history of illegal pollution practices would still be subject to EPA regulation.

Needless to say, “Representative” Fleischmann voted against Polis' amendment and the families of Tennessee even through the amendment would have allowed the conservative majority to proceed with deregulation while preserving the ability of the government to go after corporate America's biggest illegal polluters.

Tu_quo_que said: ""The purpose of this bill was to make the EPA accountable to Congress and the states in the creation of new standards and not those already in place. As always you have spun this bill to the point that you are near to out right lying about it."

Who are you and Fleischman trying to kid, Tu_quo_que? Certainly not the people in Colorado:

“The Clean Water Collective Federalism Act of 2011, sponsored by John Mica, R-Fla., would amend the 40-year-old Federal Water Pollution Control Act (more commonly known as the Clean Water Act) to prohibit the EPA administrator from revising current water quality standards or mandating new ones for a pollutant if a state already has standards in place, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service.

That could be disastrous for Colorado waterways, according to Wockner, especially in Gardner’s own district. Clean Water Action fears less federal oversight could lead to an “increase in the levels of selenium, cadmium, lead, zinc, copper, manganese, E. coli bacteria, mercury, and fecal coliform in northern Colorado’s lakes and streams including Horsetooth Reservoir, Carter Lake, the South Platte River, the Cache la Poudre River, and the Big Thompson River,” according to a release.

“Rep. Gardner’s extremist vote to increase water pollution could undermine the health of northern Colorado citizens,” Wockner said.

All three Democratic members of Colorado’s congressional delegation voted against the bill, but Gardner joined fellow Colorado Republican House members Doug Lamborn, Mike Coffman and Scott Tipton in bucking the Obama administration, which earlier in the week promised a veto in the unlikely event the bill makes it out of the Senate.

“The Administration strongly opposes H.R 2018 because it would significantly undermine the Clean Water Act (CWA) and could adversely affect public health, the economy, and the environment,” stated an Obama administration press release.

National environmental organizations were similarly outraged by the House passage of the bill, calling it the “Cooperating with Polluters Act” and blasting it for undermining “enforcement of water quality standards and protection of waters and wetlands from discharges of dredged and fill material.”

“H.R. 2018 endangers our nation’s rivers, lakes, bays, wetlands and streams that are so vital to our health and economy,” said Piper Crowell, clean water advocate for Environment America.

“Specifically, if this bill became law, it would undermine the progress that has been made to protect cherished places like the Chesapeake Bay, the Everglades and endangered areas like those affected by mountaintop removal (coal mining).”

Mymy said: “Boy, is this disgusting stuff day after day! No wonder this country is in trouble.”

No, Mymy. I believe it's rather obvious that this country is in trouble because of shoddy lawmakers who are willing to place the health and welfare of the American people at risk. Fleischmann’s “yea” vote on HR 2018 is just one example:

July 13 2011: “Yesterday evening, the full House of Representatives passed the Toxic-and-Dirty Water Bill that I warned about a couple weeks ago -- HR 2018, along with a number of amendments. . .

This legislation is the most offensive in a fresh spate of clean water attacks waged by the majority of the 112th House. The bill undoes the basis of the Clean Water Act, the 40-year-old cornerstone of all drinkable, swimmable and fishable waters in this country. Without this landmark law, and the system it set up for federal oversight of waters across all states, we wouldn't have the clean waters that we have today.

HR 2018 removes federal oversight and leaves the fate of our waters, which flow between states and know no state boundaries, up to states. Often, states disagree on the importance of clean water.

While some states act to keep their waters clean for tourism, economic gain and the health of their people, other states put polluting industries first and allow waters to be dumped in and contaminated at their people's expense. Citizens of states downstream of those industry-beholden states are the one who suffer.

Many representatives from states that prize clean water cried out against this bill, practically begging their colleagues to oppose it for the sake of the health of their constituents.

“Massachusetts spent billions of our own state dollars to clean up our harbor and drinking water sources, If you want to kill your citizens...that’s fine," said Rep. Mike Capuano (D-MA) when the bill was being debated in commitee. "We don’t."

"Don’t do it to us," he pleaded. "Don’t make it so that Massachusetts or other states who wish to have clean water, who have spent our taxpayer money to have clean water, who have built our states and economies around that clean water -- don’t make it so that we have to suffer."

T. Boone Pickens issued a challenge to pay anyone $1 million who could prove that any of the ads that the SBVT ran contained any lies. The bounty has not been collected as of yet. Kerry and a group of veterans compiled a document they claimed showed that the SBVT lied but it did not deal with the ads ran during the campaign but only individuals making misstatements in “off the cuff” discussions or interviews."

You are almost pathetic enough with your attempt to play on words to be pitied. The document they compiled was the authentication of why John Kerry was awarded his medals. The Ads were produced by people who had NEVER SERVED WITH JOHN KERRY IN BATTLE. They were ill-equipped to comment on his service to his country or why he won the medals he won. As for T. Boone Pickens and his million dollars it's pretty much like the publisher of Hustler magazine offering a million dollars for anyone to come forward who had adulterous affairs with members of Congress during the impeachment trial of Bill Clinton. Everyone now knows Callista Gingrich was having an affair with ole Newt but to my knowledge no one ever came forward to collect that million. Like I've said before your attempts are pathetic to the point one almost feels sorry for you.
