Three residents of Calhoun, Ga., were arrested in connection with a large-scale counterfeit check cashing operation, police said.
Jonathan Johnson, 34, and Jennifer Vazquez, 30, were arrested on multiple charges, including several identity theft charges and first-degree forgery, Calhoun Police Chief Garry Moss said in a news release.
Mary Russell, 68, was arrested on a drug charge and multiple counts involving possessing a firearm, police said.
Police searched a home off Mountain Laurel Lane on Tuesday and found numerous items linking the suspects to the check-cashing scheme and evidence of identification theft and drug sales, Moss said.
All three remain in Gordon County jail.
