KNOXVILLE - Tennessee tight end Cameron Clear has been suspended indefinitely by coach Derek Dooley.
The sophomore was arrested on Tuesday and charged with felony theft of property between $1,000 and $10,000. The Memphis native posted his $2,500 bond shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday night and was released from the Knox County Detention Facility. Clear has a bonded arraignment court date set for June 1.
"We are continuing the process of gathering more information," UT associate athletic director for communication Jimmy Stanton said in a text message to the Times Free Press.
According to records released Wednesday, Clear was caught by UT police with a laptop that was reported stolen by Volunteers pitcher Brandon Zajac on Saturday.
Dooley will be in Chattanooga on Wednesday night as the Big Orange Caravan concludes.
