Chattanooga man stable after being hit by train

A man is in stable condition after being struck by a train after passing out on the tracks, authorities said.

Just before 1 a.m. Thursday morning, Chattanooga police responded just south of 1200 E. Third St., department spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig said.

When they arrived, they found Robert Larson, 33, suffering from a severe injury to his left foot, Hartwig said.

Larson was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition, Hartwig said. Officers at the scene said Larson was intoxicated, according to Hartwig.
