You know, I get really tired of all the religion blamers in our society
I get tired of all the religious injectors in our society.
In response to human fallenness comes the desire for power, wealth, control and dominance.
Their called politicians and most of them identify as Christians.
If you guys want to take away Christ then let's just all quit Christmas altogether and go on with life as if the Christ event/mythical fairytale to some of you good people, never occurred and does not matter. By the way, then Dec. 25th HAS TO BE ANOTHER WORK DAY!
It is another work day for: police officers, firefighters, nurses, doctors, air traffic controllers, pilots, hospitality workers and the list goes on. Both my wife and I worked on the 25th and it didn't bother me one bit. I've always thought it was strange that the gov't gave special consideration to celebrating christmas and making it a holiday. It does seem to be endorsing and favoring one religions holiday doesn't it?
If pastor Reid controlled what went on inside--nothing--and the violence took place on the street which Mayor Littlefield 'provided,' perhaps the problem is that our Mayor cannot control the street?
I'm dumbfounded that you're actually trying to defend this "church" Andrew. You, the super-holy-roller is putting the blame on the Mayor and not the club providing offensive music and using scantily clad women to "reach out" to at risk youth.

I think Littlefield will run into some constitutional issues trying to shut down a church.
It's not a church. Remember, Mr. Reid didn't want to be labeled a church so his 990 shows him running a generic, family counseling non-profit. Even then, what in the world does the constitution have to do with shutting down a facility that is known for having multiple disturbances resulting in violence?
Apparently my first comment was deleted. I'm guessing it had to do with a youtube link of a performance, by a "musician" named Gucci Mane. Gucci performed at Fathom back in July 2011. His performance, which can be easily found on youtube, was laced with the "f" word, "n" word, etc...Not exactly what you'd expect from a venue touting this as it's mission statement:
The Mission
Fathom/Warehouse shares Christ’s love with youth through creative programs and mentoring relationships that are culturally relevant and eternally significant.
But it's not a church. I forgot, it's a different type of "non-profit"....yep
Tim Reid, you're a disgrace and I hope they shut your "non-profit" down.
Must be his/her m.o., lkeithlu. Canary..er, I mean, Conservative bolted from a thread on me as well. I think he/she likes to bait non-believers into arguments and then just leaves without responding. Not that they'd be open-minded anyway...
Excellent attitude, littleoleme2. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished. Good thing you're here to remind some of us that our charitable donations aren't as thoughtful and meaningful as yours ;-)
By the way, KMart sells items other than toys. Maybe some parents, gasp, put clothes for their children on layaway...
Lieberals have stoped Biblical morals from being taught in our schools and strive continually to remove God from our society
Everybody has different morals and parents should be responsible for teaching their own kids which morals they would like them learn, not their school teacher. Manners? Maybe, but morals? No way.
Oh, and what are "biblical morals"? I wasn't aware that jesus and co. "invented" morality.
As for liberals wanting to remove god from our society, you know that's a poor generalization. I personally would just like all religions to follow the rules and laws of our country. Nativity scenes don't belong on government property, the ten commandments don't belong in courthouses and if you have the freedom to put a billboard up telling me I'm going to hell if I don't believe, then I have the freedom to put one up telling you you're wrong.

And Andrew, if theocracies were such a successful way to run a government we'd have more left in the world than just, umm who's left, Iran maybe?

Why don't you go to a military base and tell them to their faces that they've wasted their time and their buddies died for nothing.
Don't bother, we already know.
Thankfully I feel I can now remove my "I served, I saw, I dissent - Iraq Veterans Against the War" bumper sticker.
