"I'm proud that Hamilton County has a population of twenty-somethings (Wamp is one of many) who are engaged, active, thoughtful and committed."
Sad he couldn't honestly say "intelligent", "experienced", "well-read" or (yikes) "compassionate".
Hey 21st Century Republicans: You SUCK!
Sure - that's lacking in compassion, but you can just call it "tough love" because it's all I've got for these uber-conservative, arrogant, souless automatons. Buck privates in the twerp invasion.
Take them on a cruise through the Tennessee River Gorge and TEACH them something. The mere idea that high school students are now expecting to "party hearty" on spring break cruises abroad gives a strong clue to why American academic performnce is slipping. Along with religious zealots attacking the teaching of science, underfunding leading to draconian cuts in music, art and culture programs, the strong foundation needed for higher learning and success in a competitive global business arena cannot be built. Oh, and the cops could teach the little darlings why there are speed limits and traffic laws since they demonstrate every day upon leaving school that they do not believe they have any responsibility to obey them.

Why not "Cancer and Nuclear Power"? Because honesty and integrity in journalism have been shoved aside as much of it has become a mouthpiece for corporatism, political propaganda and warmaking. To say there have been no deaths as a result of Fukushima only one year out would indicate a sad lack of interest in the question of how nuclear accidents affect people and their environment. Reading this tripe, you would think that laughing children had reclaimed the playgrounds of Chernobyl. Not so.
And confidence is not inspired by events like this, either:
Wow - interesting that conservatives would conflate common personal experimentation with attempts to attack, demean, and injure OTHERS which, to me, are not equivalent in any sense.
Thinking back, our needless warmaking in Iraq with sneering Dick Cheney and his gang of torturers cheered on by little George W., who admitted that he stuffed firecrackers down the throats of frogs for amusement, now seem to snap into much clearer focus.
Romney must have had no more personality and warmth as a teenager than he does as an adult to have to have engaged in such repulsive behavior for social validation as he has tried to pass off and justify as "teenage hijinks." Won't fly, Mitt.
Mitt Romney is burnt toast with thinking voters. Only the most crass and arrogant idologues are still openly supporting him and their "commentaries" are typically childish taunts aimed at Mr. Obama like the idiocy that Joneses serves up because they, and the Republican Party, have NOTHING to offer as solutions and workable programs for the country. They hate independent women, they hate the poor, they hate the infirm, they hate the veteran, they hate ANYTHING that the government does out of compassion for our people, they hate ANYTHING that the government does to protect our life-giving environment from their greed - ESPECIALLY if it involves constraints on predatory capitalism and its land raping corporations. There are no jobs on a dead planet but the Republicans would kill it for a buck and a nickel. Real Americans know this. Real Americans want rid of them and real Americans are ready to stomp a mudhole in the Tea Party that was created by and fronts for the billionaire draculas they serve like Pavlovian dogs.
Mr. Obama's corporatism and his failures to follow through on the things our people wanted in the runup to the last presidential election - things he SAID he would do, have certainly cooled his support among many - but vote for ROMNEY????, not a shadow of a shadow of a chance.
Such a beautiful day ... sky is blue, grass is green, birds are singing, and then kerfloppp - Joneses poops all over my computer screen. The right wing echo chamber is getting easier and easier to tune out since it stinks worse than a texas stockpen. The cresendo of ill wind comes and goes as one tunes past Faux News, too. Hope they will all just shut their ignoramic pie holes after President Barack Hussein Obama's re-election.
David Cook: The meaning of Weston Wamp
Mr. Cook says he's glad Weston is running ...

Sara Robinson give these cretins some good reading in this piece - she really nails them:
